Alert Notifications & Channels
Every alert rule in AVLView decides not just when to fire but how to reach people. Notifications go out through one or more channels to the recipients you choose, so the right person hears about a problem the moment it happens.

How to set it up
- Open the rule in Alerts > Rules (or create one) and go to its Notifications step.
- Turn on the channels you want — In-App, Push, Email, SMS.
- Choose the recipients — everyone with access, specific users, or specific groups.
- Optionally add per-channel overrides so a recipient gets, say, SMS for this rule but only In-App for others.
- Edit each channel’s content template and set Quiet Hours and the alert sound.
- Click Save.
What you can set
- Channels — In-App, Push (mobile app), Email, and SMS. Enable any combination.
- Recipients — everyone with access, specific users, or specific groups, with per-channel overrides.
- Content template — each channel has its own message using variables such as
<vehicleName>,<plateNumber>,<driverName>,<speed>,<location>,<zoneName>,<fuelLevel>,<temperature>and<timestamp>. - Quiet Hours — suppress non-critical notifications between set times; critical alerts can bypass them.
- Alert sounds — Default, Alarm, Chime, or Silent.
Frequently asked questions
Why aren’t my Email or SMS alerts arriving?
Email (SMTP) and SMS delivery may require your own provider to be configured. In-App and Push work out of the box; ask your administrator to set up the Email/SMS provider if those channels stay silent.
How do I control which alerts reach me personally?
Open Settings > Notifications. There you’ll find a matrix of alert categories against channels — your personal preference for which categories reach you through which channel.
