Unauthorised Access Alert

An Unauthorised Access alert warns you the moment a vehicle is started with no recognised driver identified — an unassigned driver with the ignition ON. It is one of the fastest ways to catch after-hours joyriding, moonlighting or outright theft.

How to set it up

1. Open Alerts > Rules and click Create rule.
2. Pick the Unauthorised Access Safety template, or choose Start from scratch.
3. Adjust the condition so it triggers on an unassigned driver with the ignition ON.
4. Choose which vehicles or groups the rule applies to.
5. Set a schedule — Always, Business Hours, Outside Business Hours or Custom.
6. Pick the notification channels — In-App, Push, Email or SMS.
7. Click Save. When the rule triggers, the alert lands in the Inbox and notifications go out.

What you can set

• Condition — fires when the ignition turns ON while no recognised driver is assigned.
• Applies to — all vehicles, selected vehicles or a group.
• Schedule — Always, Business Hours, Outside Business Hours or a Custom window.
• Notifications — In-App, Push, Email and SMS, in any combination.
• Behaviour — fine-tune re-triggering and cooldown to keep noise down.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need driver identification hardware?

Yes. The alert relies on the system knowing who is authorised, so you need driver identification — an iButton/RFID reader or the driver app — fitted and enrolled. Without it every trip looks “unassigned”.

Will it fire during normal shifts?

No, as long as drivers log in or tap their tag. Use the schedule to limit the rule to after-hours if you only care about out-of-shift use.
