How to set a speed limit
- Open the vehicle's settings.
- Find the speed-limit field.
- Enter the limit you want speeding measured against.
- Save. The Speeding alert and reports now use this value.
What you can set
- Vehicle speed limit — a fixed limit that applies to the vehicle.
- Zone speed limit — a limit that applies within a defined zone.
- Adaptive speeding — instead of a fixed number, measure against the road's posted limit. See the Speeding alert help for how adaptive mode works.
Frequently asked questions
Where does this limit show up?
It drives the Speeding alert and appears in speeding reports, so events are flagged whenever the vehicle exceeds the limit you set.
Should I use a fixed limit or adaptive speeding?
Use a fixed limit for a consistent threshold across routes; use adaptive speeding to measure against each road's posted limit. Adaptive mode is configured with the Speeding alert.
