The Crane Usage report tracks how your cranes are being operated — how much lifting they do, how quickly they cycle, and how often safety stops are triggered. It is built for construction and equipment fleets that need to measure utilisation and keep lifting gear compliant.

What the report shows

For each crane and across the fleet, the report brings together the core operating figures:

  • Operations — the number of lifting operations performed in the period.
  • Total Lift Hours — the total time spent actively lifting, a key utilisation measure.
  • Avg Cycle Time — the average length of one lift cycle, useful for spotting slow or inefficient operation.
  • Safety Stops — the number of times a safety cut-out or stop was triggered during operation.

How to run it

  1. Open Reports and choose the Sensors & Add-ons category (or search “crane”).
  2. Select Crane Usage.
  3. Set the date range you want.
  4. Click View to see it on screen, or Download for a PDF or Excel copy.

Schedule it

Use the Scheduled tab to email the Crane Usage report on a weekly or monthly cycle, so site managers get regular utilisation figures without pulling the report by hand.

Frequently asked questions

What equipment does this report need?

Each crane needs an AVLView device with the crane-operation add-on wired to the machine’s lift and safety signals. Cranes without this add-on will not report operations or safety stops.

What counts as a safety stop?

A safety stop is logged whenever the crane’s safety cut-out is triggered during a lift — useful for spotting overloading or unsafe operation that needs follow-up.
