The Fleet ROI & Utilisation Score report tells you whether the capital tied up in your vehicles is generating an adequate return. It is built for fleet owners and finance managers who need to justify the fleet's cost and spot under-used assets.

What the report shows

Each run scores your fleet on how hard its assets are working and how much idle capital is sitting unused.

• Fleet Utilisation — the share of your fleet that is actively working versus sitting idle over the period.
• Idle Capital Value — the money tied up in vehicles that are barely being used, so you can see the cost of over-capacity.
• Total Asset Value — the combined value of the fleet the score is measured against.
• Below 40% Threshold — the vehicles running under a 40% utilisation mark, flagged as candidates for redeployment or disposal.
• Fleet ROI Score — a single headline score summarising how well the fleet returns on the capital invested in it.

How to run it

1. Open Reports and choose the Fleet Intelligence category (or search “ROI”).
2. Select Fleet ROI & Utilisation Score.
3. Set the date range you want.
4. Click View to see it on screen, or Download for a PDF or Excel copy.

Schedule it

ROI is best watched as a trend, so open the Scheduled tab and set the report to run monthly. AVLView emails the PDF to you and your finance team automatically, with no need to log in.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as an under-used vehicle?

Any vehicle running below the 40% utilisation threshold is flagged. These are the assets worth reviewing first for redeployment, resale, or reallocation to busier routes.

Does the report include revenue per vehicle?

Revenue per vehicle is included where that data is available; otherwise the score is based on utilisation and idle capital.
